Losing Weight with Peptides

You may have heard of peptides and really didn’t pay much attention to what they are and what they can do for you. They can actually help you accomplish a variety of different things, and one of the things is helping you lose weight. Here is a rundown of everything you need to know if you want to lose weight using peptides, so you can get started on the body that you want.

What are peptides?

In a nutshell, peptides are short chains of amino acids. You probably already know that amino acids are very important and are the backbones of protein molecules, which are essential to life. However, you may wonder what else they are good for.

The answer is that peptides are good for so many things. Scientists are discovering new peptide compounds all the time, so there’s really no end to what they can do for you. In addition to helping you lose weight, they are able to help you keep your skin looking younger, allow you to build muscle, and much more.

Losing Weight

Now that you understand what a peptide is, you can recognize how they can help your body lose weight. Since amino acids are familiar to our bodies, due to the fact that we have receptors for them, they are able to help us accomplish other tasks, like burning fat. Here are some ways it can do so.

  • Makes pituitary gland more efficient. There are some peptide complexes that can help your pituitary gland work better, which allows your body to operate more efficiently. It won’t hold on to fat reserves anymore and you’ll be able to burn off more calories and weight with a healthy diet and a moderate exercise routine.
  • Raise metabolism. Since peptides help your glands work better, it can also help your whole body work better by raising your metabolism. When your metabolism speeds up, it helps you lose more weight because you aren’t getting sleepy or loopy. You’ll be able to move around and get things accomplished that you were too tired to do before. A faster metabolism will also allow you to be able to stay regular, and you’re less likely to hold on to water weight too.
  • More effective workouts. Again, since your metabolism isn’t slowing down, you’ll be able to get the most out of your workouts. In other words, you should be able to get through the whole thing without feeling like you need a nap. This means you’ll be able to burn fat that you couldn’t burn before, which can make you feel more accomplished.
  • Self confidence booster. When your body is working effectively and you’re able to see the fat leaving your body, there’s no way that this won’t make you feel better about yourself. You may be feeling better about yourself than you have in years, which is a good thing. This is something that is really invaluable, since you can’t buy self esteem or confidence.

Where to get peptides

Of course, you can’t just buy any peptides, if you want them to help you with all of these things. You have to get them from a reputable source. One such place is Myogene. Not only do they sell some of the best peptides to help you with a variety of different problems, but they also have a wide selection of SARMs, which are also to help your body and allow you to do some things that you may not have been able to do before. All you need to do is visit their website and see what types of peptides are right for you and then purchase them. There is a lot of information on the website concerning all their products, so you will most likely get all your questions answered before you are able to make a purchase. In some cases, you will be asked about your medical history and a doctor will investigate if the items you’re looking at are safe for you to take. This is all to make sure that the customers have a great experience and that there is never any harm to them.

Conclusion

There are so many things that peptides can do for you, especially if you’re trying to become stronger and healthier. However, one of the most impressive things is helping you lose weight. They are able to help you burn fat, boost metabolism, and get the most out of your workout, which can even lead to you feeling better about yourself. You can search online for the best peptides, or you can save yourself the trouble and order them from Myogene, who have a reputation for selling only the best products and making sure the customer get the peptides or SARMs that will help them out the most.

13 Fad Diets To Ignore

Dubious diets

From the impractical to the downright dangerous, these diets aren’t your best choice for losing weight.

Every day it seems a new diet is ready to make weight loss faster and easier than ever before. Or at least they say they are. “Most fad diets go something like this: Take a few foods, give them ‘magic’ power, and set a plan to convince people that eating this way and only this way will promote weight loss,” says Alexandra Caspero, RD, a nutritionist based in Sacramento, Calif. The following diets might spur short-term weight loss, but many are difficult to follow, have arbitrary rules, and a few could put your health in danger.

The raw food diet

Any weight-loss expert would agree that boosting your veggie and fruit intake while reducing the amount of junk you eat is a safe and effective way to lose weight, but this diet bans foods that have been cooked or processed in any way. Why? Raw foodies say cooking destroys nutrients. Though it’s true that cooking produce can sometimes reduce nutrient levels, cooked veggies still pack plenty of fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and in some instances cooking actually enhances nutrients while also killing bacteria. The biggest issue with this extreme form of veganism? Food prep—it’s totally impractical, says Christopher N. Ochner, PhD, director of research development and administration at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center. Raw foodies spend hours upon hours juicing, blending, dehydrating, sprouting, germinating, cutting, chopping, and rehydrating.

The blood-type diet

Developed by naturopathic physician Peter D’Adamo, the Blood Type Diet is based on the notion that the foods you eat react chemically with your blood type. For example, on the diet, those with type O blood are to eat lean meats, vegetables, and fruits, and avoid wheat and dairy. Meanwhile, type A dieters go vegetarian, and those with type B blood are supposed to avoid chicken, corn, wheat, tomatoes, peanuts, and sesame seeds. However, there’s no scientific proof that your blood type affects weight loss. And depending on your blood type, the diet can be extremely restrictive.

The werewolf diet

Also called the lunar diet, this one is simply fasting according to the lunar calendar. Its quick-fix version involves a day of fasting allowing only water and juice during a full or new moon—and supposedly losing up to six pounds in water weight in a single day. The extended version starts with that daylong fast and continues with specific eating plans for each phase of the moon. While you’ll lose some weight from not eating, it has nothing to do with the moon, and it will come right back, Ochner says.

Cookie diets

Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet, The Hollywood Cookie Diet, and the Smart for Life Cookie Diet all promise that eating cookies will help you drop pounds. Of course, you don’t get to chow down chocolate-chip cookies—you eat about 500 to 600 calories a day from high-protein and high-fiber weight-loss cookies (one cookie company even makes the cookies from egg and milk protein) for breakfast, lunch, and any snacks. Then you eat a normal dinner, for a total of 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day. If you stick to the diet, you will likely lose some weight, but by depriving yourself all day, you set yourself up for bingeing come dinnertime, Ochner says.

The five-bite diet

Eat whatever you want—but only five bites of it. On this diet, developed by obesity doctor Alwin Lewis, MD, you skip breakfast and eat only five bites of food for lunch and five more for dinner. “I’m OK with the idea of eating whatever you want in smaller portions, but you need to round out the rest of your eating with nutrient-dense foods to give your body the fuel it needs,” Caspero says. “On this diet, even if you take giant bites of heavily caloric food, you’re still barely consuming 900 to 1,000 calories a day.”

The Master Cleanse/lemonade diet

This diet has been around for decades, and there are a ton of variations. Pretty much all involve subsisting for days on only lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper mixed in water. “You are essentially just drinking diuretics,” Ochner says. “You’ll shed mostly water weight.” Once you start eating solid foods again, you will gain all the weight back. Common side effects include fatigue, nausea, dizziness, and dehydration. Plus, on an extremely low-calorie diet like this one, you are going to lose muscle, exactly the kind of weight you don’t want to lose, Caspero says.

The baby food diet

If a baby can grow up eating the mushy stuff, eating some definitely won’t hurt you, but guess what: You aren’t a baby. Dieters replace breakfast and lunch with about 14 jars of baby food (most baby food jars contain 20 and 100 calories apiece), and then they eat a low-calorie dinner. It’s easy to get too few calories for your body to run its best, Ochner says. Besides, who really wants to take jars of baby food to work each day?

The cabbage soup diet

The grandmother of all fad diets, the bulk of this plan is fat-free cabbage soup, eaten two to three times a day for a week along with other low-calorie foods such as bananas and skim milk. In the short term, it does yield weight loss. “It works because you are eating a low-calorie diet full of fiber and water to help aid in fullness,” Caspero says. “But it’s just a quick fix diet. It can also promote bloating and gas from all the cabbage, and is lacking in protein, which is needed to preserve lean body mass. While I am a fan of nutrient-dense, low calorie foods for weight loss, it should be balanced with other foods such as fruits, carbohydrates, healthy fats, and lean protein.”

The grapefruit diet

We are all for including produce at every meal, but the various versions of this 80-year-old fad diet instruct dieters to focus all of their meals on grapefruit or grapefruit juice, claiming that the fruit contains fat-busting enzymes that will help dieters lose 10-plus pounds in 12 days. “In reality, any time you are following a very-low calorie diet you will lose weight,” Caspero says. And this diet definitely hits that, limiting dieters to 800 to 1,000 calories a day. Some iterations also prohibit eating extremely hot or extremely cold foods, preparing foods in aluminum pans, and requires dieters to space “protein meals” and “starch meals” at least four hours apart.

The Sleeping Beauty diet

If you’re asleep, you’re not eating. Rumored to have been followed by Elvis Presley, this diet takes that simple fact to the extreme, encouraging people to use sedatives to stay asleep for days on end. But sleeping the days away not only starves the body and causes muscle deterioration from a lack of movement, but actually risks death: “Every time you go under, there’s a risk,” Ochner says. “Sure, you might wake up 2 pounds lighter, but you might not wake up at all.”

The HCG diet

This edge-of-starvation diet limits you to about 500 calories a day while taking human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), a hormone that proponents tout as a powerful appetite suppressant. However, there’s no evidence that HCG does more than act as a placebo, Ochner says. Yes, you’ll lose weight, but only due to the extreme calorie restriction. Though a health care provider may legally give you HCG injections, they’re typically used to treat fertility issues in women and the FDA has not approved them for weight loss. As for over-the-counter homeopathic products that supposedly contain HCG? Those are illegal.

The tapeworm diet

“You don’t need a doctor to tell you that ingesting a tapeworm is a bad idea,” Ochner says. But apparently, some people do. This weight-loss tactic has been around for decades, preying on especially desperate dieters. Here’s how it goes: Ingest tapeworm eggs, let the tapeworm eat the food you consume once it gets to your intestines, and then, when you lose enough weight, get a doctor to prescribe you an anti-worm medication. But some tapeworm eggs can migrate to various parts of your body or cause other potentially life-threatening problems. Freaked out yet? Good.

The cotton ball diet

Consuming cotton balls soaked in orange juice—a diet technique may have been born on YouTube, in chat rooms, and on Facebook—is an incredibly dangerous way to suppress your appetite. “This makes my eating-disorder therapy head spin,” Caspero says. Not only does consuming cotton balls in place of food deprive the body of nutrients, eating anything that isn’t actually food can cause blockages in your intestines. What’s more, most cotton balls aren’t even made of cotton—they’re composed of bleached, synthetic fibers.

7 Exercises To Sculpt Your Buns To Perfection

7 Exercises To Sculpt Your Buns To Perfection

1103-stability-ball-back-extension

Stability ball reverse extension

Tighten and tone your butt and a few other assets with these multi-muscle moves.

Your butt’s not the only part of your backside you should work. Strengthen the erector spinae, the muscles of the back, with this move for better posture—which means instant flatter belly.

How to do it: Lie face-down on a stability ball with hands and toes on the floor, hands below shoulders, and lower torso on top of the ball. Keeping legs pressed together and core engaged, slowly lift up legs until they are parallel with torso. (Avoid lifting legs higher than body, which will cause arching in lower back.) With control, lower legs to starting position. Do 15 to 20 reps.

mv-glute-bridge
Glute bridge with skull crusher

This caboose-booster promotes healthier hip joints by stretching the hip flexors and strengthening the glutes, while at the same time challenging your core and tightening your triceps.

How to do it: Lie face-up with knees bent and feet flat on the floor about 12 inches away from hips, holding dumbbells. Extend arms, keeping wrists aligned with shoulders. With core engaged and spine in a neutral position, slowly tuck pelvis under, pushing into heels and lifting glutes and lower back off of the floor until hips are completely open at the top without arching back. Lower hips to hover just above the floor and bend elbows, drawing hands beside each ear. Extend arms and press up hips again. Continue, never letting hips touch the floor, for 12 to 15 reps.

donkey-kick_thumb

Donkey kick

Also known as quadruped bent-knee hip extension (and you thought “donkey kick” was odd), this tush-toner elicits a higher degree of muscle activation in both the gluteus maximus and gluteus minimums than many other commonly performed butt exercises, according to University of Wisconsin-La Crosse researchers. It also asks more of your hamstrings so you look even better from behind in mini-skirts, short shorts and swimsuits (we know the struggle—these are the best bikini bottoms for your body type).

How to do it: Get on all fours with knees below hips and wrists below shoulders. Keeping core engaged, hips and shoulders square to the floor, right leg bent and right foot flexed, slowly lift right leg until thigh is parallel with the floor. Lower to starting position. Do 12 to 15 reps, then switch legs to complete set.

Single-leg deadlift with single-arm row

This single-leg variation of one of the best lower-body strengthening exercises—the deadlift—also provides the back-sculpting (back fat is pesky—try these moves, too!) benefits of the single-arm row.

How to do it: Stand with feet together holding a dumbbell in left hand. Keeping core engaged, hinge forward at hips, lifting left foot off of the floor and extending leg behind you. Balancing on right leg, continue to bend forward and lower the dumbbell toward the floor, keeping hips and shoulders squared. Perform a single-arm row, drawing left elbow straight back until the dumbbell is in line with chest. Extend left arm and slowly stand up, returning to starting position. Do 12 to 15 reps, then switch sides to complete set.

Squat and squeeze

You won’t miss a single lower-body muscle when you blend a squat to hit your glutes, hamstrings and quads, with a calf raise and sponge ball squeeze to target your calves and inner thighs.

How to do it: Stand with feet hip-width apart, toes pointed forward and a small sponge ball placed between thighs. Keeping core engaged and spine neutral, hinge at hips, lowering down into a squat while applying gentle pressure to the ball. Slowly extend legs, rising up onto balls of feet, lifting heels for a calf raise, squeezing the ball at the top of the movement. Do 12 to 15 reps.

Single-arm SandBell swing

It’s hard to think of exercises that truly sculpt your entire body, but this one fits the bill and also improves grip strength and boosts aerobic capacity, all while torching some serious calories—as much as nearly 20 calories per minute, according to an American Council on Exercise study.

How to do it: Stand with feet hip-width apart holding a SandBell or kettlebell in right hand with an overhand grip. Hinge at hips, drawing the SandBell back between legs, then thrust hips forward, generating power from lower body to raise the SandBell to shoulder height. Once at shoulder height, release the SandBell momentarily mid-air, switching hands so the SandBell is now in left hand. Continue, alternating hands for 20 reps.

1010-dumbbell-step-up

Dumbbell step-up

This step-up will perk up your butt, tone your thighs and give you strong shoulders to sexily top off strapless dresses.

How to do it: Stand facing a bench or step, holding dumbbells just above shoulders, palms facing in. Place right foot on the bench and push off left foot until both feet are on top of the bench. With elbows at about 11 o’clock and 1 o’clock, extend arms. Slowly lower dumbbells back to shoulders, then step right foot back onto the floor, followed by left foot. Repeat, starting with left foot. Continue, alternating feet for 16 to 20 reps.

The Best Fruit For Cleansing & Weight Loss

I must say how excited I ‘am to know just how much nutritional Watermelon is for us. Do you remember how much you enjoyed eating watermelon as a child? I do, and I still love to eat it every summer and even all year round. Watermelons are great for hydrating your body in the hot sun. That’s why watermelon is more than just refreshing and tasty. Watermelon is great for cleansing, weight loss and your health. Don’t let its lightness fool you; it’s packed with nutrition. Watermelon is an inexpensive way to help you cleanse your body and lose weight. A one cup serving of watermelon is only 47 calories. Yes, watermelon is 92 percent water but that other 8 percent is filled with good nutrition and amazing health benefits. Watermelon is recommended by the American Council on Exercise as a good choice of diet food.

How Watermelon Helps with Cleansing, Weight Loss & Health

1. Extremely alkaline-forming in the body
Fat cells contain toxicity and acid. Your body will not let go of fat cells while you are still acidic.

2. High amount of citrulline
It creates a diuretic effect (lots of peeing) as the toxins leave your body. Citrulline makes arginine which removes ammonia and other toxins from the body. Also, arginine boosts nitric oxide, which improves blood flow. This is why a watermelon detox works so well.

3. High in dietary fiber that helps keep the colon clean, helping cleanse your body.

4. Contains glutathione that helps improve liver function.
Your body needs this to begin to detox body toxins. Glutathione is the body’s most powerful antioxidant and detoxifying agent, but outside the science community, few people have even heard of it.

5. Good source of potassium
This balances the high amounts of sodium in our diets which supports your kidneys and is great when cleansing.

6.  Prevents Wrinkles
Watermelon is high is lycopene. Lycopene helps slow down the effect of aging caused by the oxidation in your body that causes wrinkles and blemishes.

7. Reduces inflammation
Inflammation contributes to conditions like asthma, atherosclerosis, diabetes, colon cancer and arthritis. Less inflammation means lower toxic load in the body.

Kim Kardashian has Watermelon in her diet. Kim said, it really helps keeping my skin glowing and weight under control and it’s always helped my potassium during my pregnancy. She went on a diet after the birth of her baby North West, and Watermelon was on the list of her favs. Delicious and loves it on her salads.

Caution:  There are many good medicinal reasons to consume watermelon, but remember not to over-consume it.

My Watermelon Story

When I was disabled for ten years, with a partly functioning digestive system and could only eat 12 foods, watermelon was a lifesaver for me. I eat half of a big watermelon daily. I am grateful for watermelons helping me on my journey back to health.

Watermelon to Cleanse Your Body

  • If you are looking for a way to cleanse your body of toxins try a watermelon cleanse.
  • A watermelon detox helps cleanse your body by removing body toxins that are slowing down your metabolism. Ridding your body of toxins helps boost your metabolism.
  • When wastes build up in your body, skin conditions like cellulite occur. It’s best to do preventative detoxes to get rid of toxins before this happens.

Replace 1 Meal A Day with Watermelon.

Some people try to eat only watermelon for a week or longer. This is too unbalanced, too cleansing and too restrictive for most bodies. It’s healthy and safe to replace a single daily meal with a serving of watermelon.

Bonus Benefit: Watermelon also has Viagra-like properties.

Women’s Health – Must Haves For Fast Weight Loss

If you’re looking to lose weight and have tried everything it’s actually important and helpful to know which foods that burn fat and aid in weight loss! No need to starve yourself or go on a strict diet, although counting calories does help! But there are certain foods that burn fat and they will be helpful to you when trying to lose weight. Below are some of the best Weight Loss Tips and Eatables you should be chowing down in order to maintain or get started on weight loss!

  • Speed up the Breakdown of Fat

Here are two great foods that burn fat and they are salmon and tuna! These particular fish are loaded with proteins and fatty acids, two of the essentials our body needs to speed up the breakdown of fat! Try getting 1-2 servings in at least 3 times a week, and have some veggies on the side for a whole meal.

  • Vitamin B12

Eggs are one of my favorite foods, and it was only recently that I learned how amazing they are in burning fat and aiding in weight loss! Chock full of vitamin B12, eggs will break down body fat faster than you can blink! Well, maybe not that fast, but they do their job and do it effectively. Aim for 3-4 servings per week.

  • A Healthy Way To Boost Your Weight Loss, Energy Level and Bodily Functions

We all know that fresh fruits and veggies are healthy for us, but how many of us actually eat them? Opening a can or a frozen bag is easier than washing, peeling, storing, and prepping fresh produce. However, the benefits are entirely worth it! If you get 3-5 servings of fresh fruits and veggies per day, you will notice an over-all difference in your weight loss, hair and skin appearance, as well as your energy levels and bodily functions!

  • Enhance Your Metabolism

Raw cacao is a fabulous weight loss aid. Raw cacao powder or nibs are nothing more than raw chocolate at its finest. Raw cacao is a great energy aid and contains the crucial minerals zinc, iron and magnesium, which all enhance your metabolism, aid in metabolizing carbohydrates, and these nutrients give you energy. Raw cacao is also great for halting your appetite and you only need an ounce a day to make a difference. This is your free chance to eat chocolate, so take it ladies!

  • Detoxify Your Body

Kale is a true superfood and not just because it’s green! Kale is one of the best leafy greens you can eat to burn fat because it contains rich amounts of chlorophyll, magnesium and iron. Kale also contains more protein per ounce than steak! Chlorophyll is the pigment that gives kale its green hue, and detoxifies the body, helping to wash out wastes that can cause fat storage. It also curbs cravings. If you think you don’t like kale, try massaging it with your hands with a teeny bit of melted coconut oil, some nutritional yeast and a dash of Himilayan sea salt and black pepper. This dish tastes absolutely amazing and creamy, and helps you burn fat as a bonus!

  • Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Hemp seeds are one of my favorite foods and they are great to burn fat fast! Hemp seeds are wonderful for your metabolism because they are a complete source of protein. They are also high in Omega 3 fatty acids which aid in fat burning, depression prevention, and they increase your metabolism and energy production. Sprinkle these sweet and nutty little raw seeds on a salad, some yogurt, some oatmeal or your smoothie and burn fat the tasty way!

  • Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are one of my favorite filling foods. Just three tablespoon soaked in a little almond milk gels up into this delicious pudding like texture. I like to add a little stevia and cinnamon to my chia pudding and it takes away all those nasty cravings. Chia seeds swell up in your stomach, yet most of their calories come from healthy fats, and their carbohydrates come completely from fiber. This means they don’t just enhance your metabolism, but they also aid in removing toxins from your body. Soak 3 tbsp. chia seeds with ½ cup almond milk or coconut milk. Add a teeny bit of sweetener of your choice such as stevia, and a little cinnamon or even cocoa powder and mix it up. Then, just let it soak overnight! You can also add chia seeds to smoothies, salads, or basically any dish you want.

  • Must Have For Weight Loss

Cinnamon is a powerful little spice that packs a punch. Full of health benefits, cinnamon is something every woman who is trying to lose weight should have in her pantry! Just ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon helps metabolize sugars 20 times faster than before! Cinnamon also lowers your body’s blood sugar level overall.

  • Brazil Nuts

Brazil nuts are rich in the nutrient selenium, which helps your body use carbohdyrates for energy instead of fat storage. Selenium is an important mineral that also helps to curb your appetite. Just one single Brazil nut has over 100% of your daily selenium requirements, so pop one before your next workout and consider yourself good to go!

  • Soy Protein

Here is a food item that some of us don’t have a taste for, but it will aid you greatly in your weight-loss journey. Tofu is an excellent source of soy protein, so it burns fat quickly and in large amounts. It’s a great pick for vegetarians, or if you just want to mix it up a bit!

  • Burn Twice The Amount Of Calories

If you have a mouth for spicy foods, try having a cayenne pepper or two! These little peppers are helpful in weight loss because they burn twice the amount of calories that other peppers do, and the effect lasts for hours. If you don’t like cayenne, you can try jalapeno or some other spicy peppers for great results.

  • Fiber-Rich Foods

We all need a little fiber in our diet, and if you’re trying to lose weight that’s no exception! Fiber-rich foods help your body to flush out and cleanse the bloodstream, as well as get rid of junk your body has been holding back. Whole grains are a good source of fiber, so try to get 4-5 servings a week.

Did you know your body actually NEEDS some fats? There are only a few good fats, one of them being monounsaturated fats. Extra virgin olive oil is packed with these fats, so to keep your diet balanced, and aid in burning body fat, add a few teaspoons of EVOO to your diet each week!
Coconut is a great food to eat if you’re looking to drop weight. Coconut is rich in MCT fats, which are special fats that aid in liver function, where your fat burning starts. Your liver is responsible for triggering fat burn, but it can’t do so if it is filled with toxins we encounter everyday. Coconut’s antiviral properties help enhance your liver health to aid in detoxification. The fats in coconut are used immediately for enzyme production and metabolism, making it great to consume if you workout. Coconut oil is best to cook with, and shredded unsweetened coconut is great to add to yogurt, oatmeal or homemade energy bars. Go with 2 tbsp. per day for the best amount.

Lemons are my favorite addition to any food, or rather lemon juice, that is. Lemon juice is the best way to alkalize your body in literally two seconds with just a squeeze of lemon juice. It is rich in Vitamin C, which automatically aids in fat burning, and it detoxifies the liver, where fat burning starts. Lemon also increases the efficiency of your digestion, which can help if you’re feeling slugglsh, which may stall weight loss too.

Something that is vital to remember as you are trying to lose weight is how important it is to remain healthy about your eating habits. Losing weight is always encouraging, but don’t take desperate measures. Feed your body healthy, fat-burning foods and be nutritious!

8 Great Tips To Get Healthy

8 Great Tips To Get Healthy

There’s a lot of different great ways to stay healthy and live a life of longevity and vitality. I’m sure you’ve seen a thousand articles on the topic online and probably even more in magazines and books. We don’t think about when we’re younger and we think we can do anything with our body. Unfortunately, we find out years later that our body must be taken care of in order to feel good. If you’re wondering why you don’t feel good, feel tired all the time or hurt, in many cases, it can point back to your lifestyle. In a age where technology gives us comfort and ease, we’re seeing obesity at a younger age and it’s alarming. So today, we’re going to share some great tips on staying healthy.

1. Educate yourself at a young age. Ever wish you would have took better care of your body when you were younger? Same here. Why didn’t we? Did your parents talk about health when you were younger? Did your teacher teach you the importance of fitness? More then likely, you’ve heard it from somewhere. The problem, kids just don’t listen. You have to embed the importance of a healthy lifestyle time and time again. Education and learning is power. Teach your children or grandchildren at an early age. Make sure they eat good. For those of you that are older, it’s never too late to start getting healthy.

2. Make sure you exercise daily. Studies are showing that we don’t exercise anymore, kids are not exercising. Technology is one of the concerns for the issue. If you have children, make them go outside and play daily. At the very least, they should be active for an hour a day. That is the bottom line. Same for you mom and dad, exercise should be part of your normal daily routine. Daily exercise has a variety of different benefits. As you age, the need for daily exercise arises. Even if it’s just walking, get out there and do it. Although you should be active for an hour at the very least too, any type of exercise will be helpful to you. I know it’s tough finding time to exercise with work and kids. However, your body needs it.

3. All about eating healthy foods. A lot of men and women believe that exercise is all you need to lose weight or to be healthy. That statement is completely false. Not true at all. You can actually lose more weight eating healthy then exercising. The combination of both is what helps you get the best results though. I just don’t want you to eat healthy here and there. Eating healthy should be a part of your daily routine, breakfast, lunch, afternoon and dinner.

4. Get your full 8 hours in. Time is money and money is time, right? Yes, that may be true but sleep is so important to feeling great and living healthy. I know for many for many of you, 8 hours a sleep will never happen. You may have a demanding job, possibly two jobs. You could have children or a busy schedule. I know it can be tough. You still need to try to get your 8 hours of sleep in every night. Your body is a biological clock. If you’re getting proper sleep, you likely wake up and sleep around the same time everyday. If your not on a routine, your likely up at a variety of different times. Try your best to make an effort to get a full 8 hours of sleep. At the least, try to get an extra hour or two then you normally do. You’ll be surprised how much better you feel. Sleep is a great healthy living tip.

5. Drink water everyday. A lot of people do drink water according to studies and that is great. Are they drinking 8 cups a day? Most people are not. If your drinking water daily though, good for you. Our body is made up of water and needs water on a daily basis. Yes, it is recommended that you have 8 cups of water a day. This may seem like a lot but it really isn’t. If you’re not drinking water at all, you need to start immediately. I know men and women that started drinking water daily and felt much better within a few short days. Make water part of your game plan today.

6. Stay away from soda and pop. We go through a lot of soda and pop ladies and gentlemen. Soda and pop is very bad for you. The best outcome is to replace your soda with water. The high amounts of sugars and caffeine are dangerous and very unhealthy. I know a lot of different patients paying for it now. Again, you have to make an effort if you want to change. New Chronic Pain Treatments-Your Road To Pain Relief

Chronic Pain

New Chronic Pain Treatments-Your Road To Pain Relief

New chronic pain treatments have made it possible to find pain relief for chronic conditions. Remember how you were treated for chronic pain a few years ago? Just a few short years ago, chronic pain was thought to be a “all in your head” condition. For decades, those who suffered from chronic pain didn’t have many options. Often, you were treated poorly if treated at all. If you were lucky, you’d find a compassionate doctor that would prescribe pain medication or some type of effective physical therapy without making the pain worse. The good news, chronic pain is now viewed as a condition that needs treated. Chronic pain patients no longer have to suffer from conditions such as degenerative disc disease, sciatica, pinched nerves or osteoarthritis.

Chronic pain treatments have made big leaps in the past few years and it’s your right to know that you have options. It’s true that we do offer our own chronic pain treatment. We also take the time to evaluate chronic pain treatments and test them to ensure that anything we offer you is effective and trust worthy. It took us over 4 months but we’ve come up with a list of great chronic pain treatments that could benefit your life greatly. Not only that, these chronic pain treatments have been proven to be effective at helping chronic pain. We understand that a proven track record is important to you as a consumer.

We have several chronic pain treatments that can help you relieve and end your back pain. One good chronic pain treatment is the Doctor’s Back Pain Systems. This back pain treatment was developed by Dr. Jason Hurst. This natural pain system has already helped thousands of men and women relieve and end their back pain. This is the exact same back pain treatment that Dr. Hurst used to end his own chronic back pain. It consist of a series of specific exercises and stretches that will finally help you end your back pain. Dr. Hurst invites you to watch his free webinar explaining the power and techniques of this back pain system that has been praised by medical professionals around the country. This treatment can also help with neck pain and hip pain.

Another popular back pain treatment is Nubax Trio. Nubax Trio has also helped thousands of men and women relieve their back pain. This back pain treatment can help you maintain a healthy and flexible back. By suspending your body over a common pivot point, whilst being held symmetrically at either end of the back, a stretch is created as gravity gradually forces the waist and the shoulders apart. Rather than hanging upside down in an unnatural and potentially dangerous position as with using inversion therapy, the Nubax Trio provides a patented lever action that stretches the lower and mid back to relieve disc pressure and promote self-healing in a horizontal position, rather than vertically.

One natural back pain system that’s received high praise is Teeter Hang Ups. Teeter Hang Ups have several great benefits. Most importantly, it’s going to help you relieve your chronic back pain. This back pain system relaxes muscles, rehydrates discs realigns and reduces pressure. This back pain treatment has helped millions, yes, millions of men and women that suffer from back pain just like you. Teeter Hang Ups can relieve your back pain within seconds. We also see that Teeter Hang Ups also help with chronic pain in the shoulders, hips, neck and knees.

Another chronic pain treatment that we highly recommend is Doctors Orthotics. As one of the nations leading orthotic laboratories for the manufacture of running, walking, sports, and dress orthotics, we have helped thousands of people with their foot problems to achieve their maximum endurance in standing, walking, and running. Although we didn’t invent foot supports we have developed a unique system that will enable you to have the benefits of custom orthotics at a fraction of the cost. Physicians have prescribed orthotics for many years and patients routinely paid $400, to $500, to $600 or more for the examination, fitting, and the actual orthotics themselves. But now Doctors’ Orthotics makes it possible for you to buy factory direct and save hundreds of dollars.

This treatment can be effective for chronic pain and many other conditions. I want to recommend The Tapping Solution. The Tapping Solution is all about living a healthy life, one without stress and anxiety. Why would you offer this as a chronic pain treatment Dr. Hurst? Don’t forget, I suffered from chronic back pain for more then a decade. I know from experience that chronic pain can lead to depression. The Tapping Solution is self-healing and I’m not asking you to believe in anything. I only ask for you to try it and experience the positive elements it will bring in your life. At the least, read up on it and see what others are saying.

Bodylastics is not specific to chronic pain but studies have shown that exercise can be very beneficial to relieving chronic pain. Bodylastics offers resistance band gym systems that can stand toe to toe with the large bulky home gym machines. Resistance bands systems can help you to make amazing changes to your body. Bodylastics can help you strengthen your back, shoulders, neck, arms and legs. All of these are common areas for chronic pain. This unique system is both affordable and effective.

You have to be open minded with chronic pain and chronic pain treatments. If you’re one-sided, you won’t receive the full benefits. The media has taught us that you can get better without medication and that can be further then the truth. Studies and test have proven that alternative medicine works and can be very effective. All of these chronic pain treatments have been proven to be effective at reliving chronic pain. If you keep an open mind and you give them a try, I guarantee that these treatments will help your pain.

Walking Makes Back Pain Worse!

Yes, walking can make your back pain worse.  Many doctors will recommend that you walk regularly to alleviate your back pain, but for certain conditions walking will only hurt you more.  Let me explain…

If you’re experiencing Sciatica then every time you step forward with the affected leg, you’re stretching the sciatic nerve which will only inflame your condition.  Walking will get the muscles to loosen up some, but after you are finished with your exercise then the inflammation sets in and you’ll feel worse later in the day.

The same thing goes for a herniated or bulging disc.  The compression of your spinal bones on the disc actually pushes harder on the disc inflaming the surrounding joints and nerves.

So when can you begin walking?

That depends on many factors.  If your pain is isolated to your low back only then walking short distances is O.K. as long as you don’t normally have pain when you’re standing or walking short distances.  However, if you have pain in your lower back when you stand, then you should refrain from walking until you correct the muscular and postural imbalances around your spine.

You see, any activity can flare up your low back pain if you have muscular imbalances in your body.  If you continue to ignore these issues, then over time your condition will get worse… to the point that a spinal surgery is your only option.

I know that some people hate exercise so much that they would rather just have the surgery instead.  Unfortunately, the reason that surgery fails so frequently is that the surgeons never addressed the postural and muscular imbalances in the first place… and now after your surgery, you have even more instability in your spine than before.  YES… even after a spinal fusion, your low back is more unstable than before.  That’s why the surgeons even tell you prior to the surgery that it’s likely that the discs above and below the fusion will get bad within the next few years.  And guess where they send you next?

To the physical therapist!

So this person had the surgery to avoid exercising and fixing the problem on their own, and then they still have to go to physical therapy afterwards… often for months!

So how can you fix these imbalances on your own?

These are just a few of the things that can be going wrong…

  • You may have over pronated feet
  • You may have foot flare from tight external rotators of the hips
  • You may have tight hamstrings
  • You may have weak quadriceps
  • You may have tight calves
  • You may have tight iliopsoas
  • You may have weak abdominals
  • You may have tight low back erectors
  • You may have weak gluteal muscles
  • You may have tight piriformis muscles

Now if you have no clue how to identify any of these problems, then how are you going to correct them?  Well, using the Doctor’s Back Pain System is the number one method available that addresses each of these issues.  There are audios, videos, and manuals with pictures included that help you identify your own personal imbalances so you can fix them without spending months going through physical therapy.  There are basically 3 different types of muscular imbalances.  Once I help you identify your specific pattern, then all you have to do is follow the recommended action plan that’s included in the system.  All 3 patterns are included so there is nothing more that you’ll need.

Now… If you think your pain isn’t that bad and you’re ready for walking then the best thing you can do is to walk on a treadmill.  This decreases the impact on your feet and legs… But not everybody has access to a treadmill.  So the next best thing is to walk outside near your house.

The biggest mistake my patients have made in the past is that they walk too far away from their home.  What happens if you walk a half mile in one direction from your house and then the pain sets in?  How will you get back home without making your symptoms worse?

I always tell my patients to only walk around one block in their neighborhood.  Keep the distance from your home very short so if you get in trouble with pain, you won’t have far to get back home.  Now if you get back to your house and you’re feeling great, then walk around the block again… and again if you can.

If you live out on a country road, then walk 1/8 or 1/4 mile in one direction… turn around, and walk back to your house.  Then go 1/8 to 1/4 mile in the other direction.  Just keep going back and forth in front of your house, again so you won’t be stuck too far away from home if you all of a sudden experience pain.

My best advice to you about walking is… Take is slow!!!

The conveniences in life have made it far too easy on us to the point that we don’t even realize how easy we have it.

Let me explain…

We never have to walk a distance that allows pain to flare up.  Think about this for a minute… you walk from your bed to the bathroom, to the kitchen, to the couch, back to the kitchen, back to the bathroom, back to the couch.

What about when you’re running errands?  You walk from the house to the car, from the car to the store, from the store back to the car, and from the car back to the house… And the entire time you’re walking on concrete, pavement, carpet or some other flat flooring.  You never have to walk very far and you never have to walk on an unstable surface.

That’s why so many people injure, or re-injure their back when they are at the airport.  Unless you get carted around in a wheel chair, you may have to walk up to a mile or more just going from the parking garage to the terminals.

So just because you think you’re ready for walking long distances, doesn’t mean you are ready.  And that’s why I’m telling you that WALKING MAKES BACK PAIN WORSE… If not done carefully, and at the right time.

Don’t forget, almost every one of us has muscle imbalances in our bodies.  When these imbalances become chronic over time then the question isn’t “if your in pain,” it’s “when will you be in pain?”  It’s a guarantee that pain will hit you again down the road if you don’t address the cause of your problems first.

How Alcohol Affects Your Weight

We’ve all heard the cautionary tales about alcohol, weight loss, and how the two don’t mix.

As it turns out, this is good advice. There are some very sound reasons to avoid alcohol when you’re trying to lose weight. There are also plenty of healthier options for dieters who like a little drink now and then.

Here is a list of the reasons why alcohol can slow your weight loss and affect your weight.

Alcohol is high in empty calories.

Alcohol contains 7 calories per gram. By way of comparison, protein and carbohydrates contain 4 calories per gram, and fat contains 9 calories per gram.

The difference is that proteins, carbohydrates, and fats pack nutrition into their calories. Calories from alcohol do not provide nutrition, and will not satisfy your hunger. This makes it easy to keep drinking – and racking up a high calorie count.

Alcohol delays the fat-burning process.

According to Dr. Robert Atkins, the human body burns alcohol before any other fuel source. That means your body will burn off all the alcohol you’ve consumed before turning to its store of carbohydrates and fat. This can delay your weight-loss efforts, especially if you drink
frequently.

If you can’t bring yourself to abstain from alcohol, try sipping wine instead of beer or cocktails. Dr. Atkins considered the most diet-friendly drinks to be wine, hard liquor, or either of the above mixed with seltzer, tonic water, or diet soda.

Excessive alcohol consumption is linked to higher BMIs.

There is a direct correlation between the amount of alcoholic drinks a person consumes during a day, and that person’s Body Mass Index (BMI).

According to a study by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), study participants with the lowest BMIs drank three to seven times a week, but had only one drink during those days.

Participants with the highest BMIs drank alcohol less frequently, but consumed several drinks at a time.

As with any food, alcohol isn’t disastrous in small quantities. The real danger lies in overindulgence.

Alcohol ads are misleading.

The latest alcohol marketing campaigns refer to certain alcoholic beverages as “low-carb” or “zero-carb”. These campaigns are obviously targeting dieters, who have long avoided alcohol in their quest to shed pounds.

While it is technically true that straight liquors are distilled and therefore contain no carbs, they still contain plenty of calories and no nutritional value.

Beer and wine do contain carbohydrates, which can lead to cravings and bloating. Mixed drinks are the worst of the lot, as they contain all sorts of added sugar and calories.

Alcohol lowers inhibitions.

When we drink alcohol, our inhibitions go down. This can cause us to make decisions we would never consider while sober. When a dieter’s inhibitions are lowered, they may find it difficult to say no to overeating or eating rich foods that are high in calories.

Intoxicated dieters might be susceptible to friends’ urges to try “just one bite”, or their insistence that “just one time won’t hurt”. Mindless snacking is also common while drunk.

While the occasional planned splurge can actually help you stay on track to lose weight, alcohol can lead to an unplanned splurge followed by guilt and discouragement.

It’s up to you. The bottom line is that any diet boils down to how many calories you consume versus how many you burn.

In small quantities, alcohol can be an occasional part of your weight loss plan. Just tread carefully, save the harder drinks for special occasions, and factor the extra calories into your daily total.
